Strawberries, or “who doesn’t enjoy the sweet, delicious tiny berries,” are grown all over the world and have a justifiable reputation as a tasty fruit. It’s important to remember that Florida is winter’s epicentre, but many would argue that Belgium is the real strawberry capital of the world. Strawberries were believed to be one of Emperor Nero’s favourite fruits. Strawberries have been grown since ancient Rome. Because of this, the fact that strawberry green tea is one of the most popular flavours of green tea should not come as a surprise. In our case, we went with a blend that combines the sweetness of summer strawberries with the crispness of gunpowder green leaves from Elpitiya, a small tea estate in Sri Lanka. Primary tea grades grown on this farm include Gunpowder Special Grade, Gunpowder Grade 1, Chunmee, Sowmee, and Young Hyson.
This explains why strawberry green tea is so well-liked: it’s a refreshing alternative to traditional iced tea flavours. Get the strawberry gunpowder ready and give it your all. Take it easy and enjoy your tea.
