Therefore, peaches represent longevity, which is the yin side of our equation. What about the apricot as our Yang element? However, in Chinese culture, apricots are emblematic of cowardice and dishonour. It’s possible to make the case that living a long life requires bravery, given that courage is the opposite of cowardice. Therefore, the opposite of courage is known as cowardice.
