When it comes to vitamin C, oranges are the go-to food for the vast majority of people in North America. The orange may be the most taken-for-granted fruit there is. Did you know that Sanskrit, the earliest known written language, is where the term “orange” originally appeared? You can count on it being accurate. A look into where oranges came from Several countries, including China, India, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Malaysia, lay claim to the fruit’s inception. We do know that oranges made their way to the West from India and that orange orchards were thriving on the Italian peninsula prior to the fall of the Roman Empire. The orange was then brought to Spain by the Muslims who ruled an empire ranging from India to Spain in the sixth century. Then, in the New World, orange seeds were transported across by Christopher Columbus. Then, in the latter part of the twentieth century, a high-grown Ceylon was flavoured with natural orange flavouring, and the result is the bag of tea you’re holding in your hand right now.
