The licorice root has been used for thousands of years to make a sweetener known as licorice. Ancient cultures like as Greece, China, and Egypt valued the root for its healing properties. The licorice root was used in ancient cough syrups and tonics because of this belief.
Fact: King Tutankhamen was buried with enough of the root to sustain his immortality in the afterlife. Just how many other roots can say the same thing? But in the modern world, most people see licorice for what it really is: a tasty sweet with a hint of sweet anise. Fortunately for us and you, it also goes well with this mature Ceylon. Beautifully. We believe that even Tutankhamen would have made room in his tomb for a few of bags of this tea if it had been available during his day.
Enjoy a cup and transport yourself back in time to when the ancients believed in the healing properties of licorice.
