The thunderous cacophony of hands clapping. Heeled shoes clacking briskly on a hardwood floor. Castanets clicking together. Lightning-fast guitar picking. Fluctuating voices. The Andalusian tradition’s age-old fervour. Flamenco!
If you’ve never seen authentic flamenco in full flow, you’re missing out on a real treat. and its effect on the senses. Flamenco, as much a part of Spanish culture as the bullfight, is revered by many as the very essence of Spain.
Poet Rainer Maria Rilke, who was not from Spain, managed to convey the country’s spiritual fervour and the mystique of a flamenco dancer on stage in his poem “The Spanish Dancer,” which he penned between 1875 and 1926.
“And whirling faster and faster,
she fans her dress into passionate flames,
till it becomes a furnace, from which,
like startled rattlesnakes,
the long naked arms uncoil, aroused, and clicking.”
Aiming to bottle up the essence of life’s vitality in a cup of refreshing fruit tea. Passion Flamenco is a blend made entirely of real fruit pieces, inspired in part by the longstanding custom of outdoor farmer’s markets in Spain. A real sensory overload! Enjoyable whether served hot from the kettle or iced and sweetened. Vamonos!
