“I could have had class. I could have been a contender. I could have been somebody”.
While he read On the Waterfront, a novel about crime and corruption on Manhattan’s waterfront, the main character Terry Malloy would have benefitted from a cup of this delicious herbal tea. Marlon Brando, who played the part, is as laudable. Hollywood legend has it that when Brando first watched the final film, he left the screening 10 minutes early because he was so upset with his performance. Given the film’s future status as an industry classic, his initial dissatisfaction may have been unwarranted.
And why did the tea seem to make everyone happier right away? It’s important to note that there are some viable justifications for this. The first is peppermint, which lends the concoction a spicy, clean, and refreshing flavour. Local people have relied on peppermint’s calming effects on the mind and body for millennia. And, really, who wouldn’t want to feel better after that? The drink is finished off with the addition of rose petals, which impart a sweet floral aroma and flavour. Gifts of roses have been given as pick-me-ups for millennia, so it seems to reason that drinking a herbal tea made with rose petals would have a similar effect. To proceed, please replace the following with ginger. Ginger’s fiery heat adds a whole new depth to the blend, making your skin crawl. Meanwhile, the osmanthus and hibiscus are two additional well-known flowers cherished for their beauty, energising aromas, and spicy flavours. Rooibos, a herbal tea from South Africa, is a great source of iron and zinc and has a subtle flavour. Supplementing it with apples and rosehips further enhances the combination’s beneficial effects on the body.
Nonetheless, a cup of On the Waterfront can help lift your spirits if you’re feeling depressed about your luck of the draw. This tea eliminates the need for the words “may have” or “could have,” replacing them with the more decisive “will do.” Give yourself a taste of the good life!
