Oasis Mango White is the ideal tea to serve visitors for its delicious flavour and meaningful association with hospitality. The tea and fruit were flavoured with plants that have been used to welcome guests for millennia.
Mangoes, which have been cultivated in the East since before written history, have been used in a wide variety of rituals and ceremonies, from being fed at weddings to being put before shrines to having their leaves weaved and hung from doorknobs like Christmas wreaths in the West. Several of these welcoming practises spread to the Americas, where it is thought mango trees were introduced by early Jesuit missionaries who had travelled through the East.
Even white tea, with its historical association with hospitality, has a rich history. In reality, an ancient Chinese ceremonial involving a precursor to white tea may be traced back to the Song Dynasty and provides inspiration for the elaborate tea ceremony used in Japan today. Regrettably, the early ceremony’s specifics have been lost to the mists of time. The ritual was obviously very important because it continued even without tea. When visitors arrived, hosts would offer them the boiling water as if it were tea. It was first brought to Japan by wandering monks, who then refined the ritual into its present-day highly stylized form.
Briefly said, this is the jar to grab when guests arrive. The flavour is soft and smooth, with hints of honey, mango, and a mild astringency. Fortunately, we were able to acquire a plentiful supply for all of your celebrations.
