It seemed only natural that we make a special tea blend in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth when paying tribute to Britain’s prominent citizens. This is due to more than just the fact that she is the monarch of the Commonwealth and is widely believed to enjoy the venerable spirits. The Baptism of Elizabeth, Queen On April 21, 1926, in London, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth welcomed their daughter, Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor. The Queen found out her father had died in 1952, on a royal tour to Kenya. She abruptly ended her trip so that she could come home and take the crown. The following year, on June 2, 1953, she was formally crowned queen.
What about her well-known fondness for tea? Hence, every year since she became queen, Elizabeth II has held a garden banquet for her most devoted followers. When we say tea is served, we mean tea is offered, among other delicacies, at these occasions.
To show respect for Britain’s colonial past, guests at these events will drink teas sourced from India and Ceylon. This tea, made with Nilgiri, Assam, and Darjeeling teas from India and a Dimbula from Ceylon in honour of England and the Queen, was crafted with the same reverence. The final product is a delicious cup that is rich in malt flavour, with a hint of muscatel, and finishes off smoothly. Thank you for your service, and may you finally rest in peace, Queen.
