Despite their current status as a staple in many people’s diets, oranges once held a place of prestige. During the era of European colonization Even until the early 20th century, this fruit was much sought after for its unusual flavour and pleasant aroma by the continent’s affluent elite. Perhaps the world’s most renowned perfume, Orange by Hermes of Paris, perfectly encapsulates the opulence and exoticism of oranges. One of the most well-known fragrances in France, Hermes Orange, was inspired by oranges. Verte. Perfume has long been a stand-in for the luxurious ways of living in medieval Europe. In this same vein, and out of respect for the humble orange, we have created this green tea with a subtle orange flavour.
The backbone of this exquisite infusion is a green tea made in the Sencha tradition. Sencha green teas are characterized by their dark green, needle-shaped leaves, their light green to yellow liquid, their brilliant, smooth cup, and their somewhat sweet, honey-like aftertaste. Its inherent sweetness complements our all-natural orange flavourings perfectly. For a more aesthetically pleasing combination, we’ve sprinkled small safflower flowers throughout. Enjoy a cup today and think back to when the humble orange deserved respect. Even better with ice, this one.
