Raspberries, with their unique taste and lush texture, are a classic delicacy served in the middle of summer. But did you know that roses and raspberries share a same ancestor? In a word, yes. Fruit trees like strawberries and apples are also members of the Rosaceae family of plants, which includes raspberries and roses.
Maybe this is why honey and raspberries are such a good flavour combination. Is that a bit of a stretch for you? Imagine a hive of bees. The honey we eat comes from honeybees Although the link between raspberries and roses is flimsy at best, honey is made by bees from the nectar of various flowers, including the rose. Honey’s distinct flavour and hue come from the various flowers that provided their nectar. Honey has been prized for its natural sweetness and possible medicinal properties for millennia. However, the raspberry and honey flavours in this tea go together wonderfully. To complement the delicate flavour of the berries, we’ve used a robust honey flavouring that our high-grown Ceylon produces very well. Just brew, pour, and sip; the sugar is already dissolved in this tea.
