When asked how to say “pecan,” how do you say it? Is that a pay-can or a pee-can? It’s possible for the discussion to turn heated. However, there’s really no use in arguing. Sure, but what about pecans? tarts? If you’re Canadian or have travelled across the country, you’ve probably had the butter tart, a little circular pastry sold in cafes across the country from Vancouver to St. John’s. Nice, huh? According to popular belief, the dish originated in Canada and was later brought back by Cajuns and French Canadians who had settled in the New Orleans area. The Cajuns are credited with making the first pecan tart, using local pecans and a modified version of a classic French pie recipe to produce a delectable treat that is sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. The lovely sweet, buttery, and nutty taste of pecan tart inspired us to create a special tea blend that is quickly becoming a fan favourite in the workplace. Make yourself a cup of this and enjoy the sweetness of the American South in the land of the white maple leaf. Wow, that’s tasty, right?
