Blueberries are a fruit that no one can resist. These little berries are bursting with flavour and are wonderfully juicy and sweet. Visiting a pick-your-own blueberry farm is a must on any North American summer road trip. In July, when we celebrate National Blueberry Month, this is especially true. Robert Frost, Poet It was fun for me to choose. He expressed these ideas in his poetry “Blueberries.”
Blueberries as big as the end of your thumb,
Real sky-blue, and heavy, and ready to drum.
In the cavernous pail of the first one to come!
And all ripe together, not some of them green
And some of them ripe! You ought to have seen!
Blueberries’ favourable combination of nutritional richness, antioxidant potency, and adaptability as a component in various food items has led to their labelling as a “superfruit” in recent years. Raise a steaming mug in toast to a fantastic fruit!
