If you want to know the finest thing ever said about strawberries, go no farther than William Butler Yeats: “Doubtless God could have made a better berry, but doubtless God never did.” Would Yeats have written differently if he’d tried a strawberry daiquiri? Though it may sound foreign, the Strawberry Daiquiri was originally created in 1896 by an American mining engineer stationed in eastern Cuba. To wow his guests, he mixed together strawberries, coconut, and rum and gave it the name of a nearby village. He had no clue his beverage would become so widely consumed, much less that it would be such a great addition to the world of tea. In any case, we’re happy to say that it did! Infusing a high-grown Ceylon with natural flavours and spices, we crafted a cup of tea with robust strawberry, smooth rum, and creamy coconut overtones. To really appreciate the nuanced flavour, brew it hot with a small amount of sugar. To what temperature do you like your tea? For a refreshing summer drink, serve the hot brew in a tall glass filled with ice. This is excellent in any case. How delicious!
We’ve taken the experience of sipping tea to a new level, creating a sensory escape for the tea connoisseur just before they sink their lips into a tasty treat.
With this goal in mind, we sourced our teas only from Sri Lanka’s top-tier growing locations of Nuwara Eliya, Dimbula, and Uva. These three high-yield regions provide teas with the classic “Ceylon” character, highlighted by floral aromas and flavours, hints of moderate astringency, a magnificent coppery colour, and most importantly, the capacity to serve as the base tea of our flavouring teas.
We are serious about achieving genuine flavour profiles, and we make that intention crystal evident. It is possible to savour the entire flavour of high-grown Ceylon tea without adding any additional flavours, as the tea’s natural flavours do not overshadow the drink. As a refreshing change from the ordinary, this is a major feature for our naturally flavoured teas.
